Drake Maye Praises Patriots Offensive Line After Jets Win - New England Patriots

Drake Maye of the New England Patriots praised his offensive line after New England defeated the New York Jets, 26-19, on Oct. 18, 2026. The Patriots allowed zero sacks despite losing three offensive linemen during the game, according to Boston.com.

Maye credited his wife, Ann Michael, with providing baked treats for the offensive linemen after the victory. “Shoutout, Ann Michael. Got to keep on bringing some more treats,” Maye said, according to Boston.com.

The Patriots also finished their final possession with three backup offensive linemen on the field. That sequence gave New England a productive closing drive while creating an important availability question before the next game.

Three Patriots Offensive Linemen Left With Injuries

Morgan Moses left with an ankle injury, Alijah Vera-Tucker exited with a hamstring injury, and Ben Brown left with a knee injury, according to Boston.com.

The three injuries changed the Patriots offensive line during the game. New England still completed the afternoon without allowing a sack, but the exits left the team with a short turnaround before its next contest.

Will Campbell and Caleb Lomu Held Up in Pass Protection

Will Campbell allowed one total pressure on 35 pass-blocking snaps against the Jets, according to Pro Football Focus figures reported by Boston.com.

Caleb Lomu allowed zero pressures on 30 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus figures reported by Boston.com. More background on Lomu is available in Caleb Lomu’s Patriots draft profile.

Maye said the linemen were “doing a heck of a job in there,” according to Boston.com. The quarterback’s comment followed a game in which New England maintained pass protection despite the injuries along the front.

Patriots Offensive Line Finished With Three Backup Linemen

The clearest consequence of the injuries came on New England’s final drive. The Patriots gained 56 yards on 13 plays while playing with three backup offensive linemen, according to Boston.com.

The possession lasted 6:08 and forced the Jets to use all three of their timeouts. New England then settled for a field goal at the end of the drive, according to Boston.com.

Andy Borregales kicked the deciding field goal at the end of the possession. The Patriots’ ability to sustain the drive helped them close out the 26-19 victory after the offensive line had lost three players during the game.

Mike Vrabel Faces a Short-Week Offensive Line Decision

The Patriots now must determine which offensive linemen are available for a short week before facing the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Head coach Mike Vrabel said New England would need to evaluate the players who left the Jets game and determine who is available.

“It’s a short week,” Vrabel said, according to Boston.com. “Whether they can make it back or not, I don’t know … we’ll just have to figure out who we have available.”

That availability question is the primary roster consequence of the Jets win. The Patriots offensive line protected Maye without allowing a sack and helped produce a 56-yard final drive, but Moses, Vera-Tucker and Brown now head into a short week with injuries reported during the game.

New England’s next matchup against the Bears will provide the team’s next opportunity to address the offensive line’s availability. Until then, the confirmed result from the Jets game is a zero-sack performance paired with three reported injuries and a successful closing possession.
